For our next event, third degree black belt & Defensive BJJ founder Priit Mihkelson will be bringing his expert knowledge to Glasgow for three days of teaching with a focus on back survival (jokes included).
With over 20 years extensively studying and training BJJ, Priit has become established as the expert on defensive jiu jitsu and has developed a cult following well beyond his native Estonia. A regular instructor at BJJ Globetrotters camps worldwide, Priit splits his time between running Estum – his own team based in Tallinn – and travelling for seminars and camps.
The mini camp will take place at our academy in Rutherglen in the Greater Glasgow area (G73 2HZ) between Friday 1st and Sunday 3rd of July. Friday evening will feature a rolling and Q&A session between 18:30 and 20:30, with Saturday and Sunday featuring 2x taught sessions each, at 10:00-12:00 and 13:30-15:30, with time for further Q&A and rolling at the end of each day.
Priit’s concepts can be applied universally to gi and nogi, however as the camp is in July it will held as a nogi camp. Feel free to bring a gi for rolling!
The full camp with all five sessions is open to all and will cost £95 for Ronin Grappling members, £110 for non-members. Priit’s schedule is fully booked well into 2023, so don’t miss your only chance to learn from him right here in Scotland and book now to secure a space!
Please note by booking or asking to be added to the waiting list you also agree to our Covid guidance copied below.
*RONIN COVID GUIDANCE*
As numbers are fairly high in Scotland we still ask members and visitors to please test regularly with lateral flow tests including on the first day of camp. We have students who are immunocompromised or who are carers, and many members have elderly, frail or immunocompromised family members and it’s about protecting them as much as it is protecting ourselves.
Lateral flow tests can be ordered for free *here* and accessed at testing centres. If you develop symptoms or feel unwell please stay home, there will be other seminars.
We would like to specify at Ronin Grappling we have extra measures in the case of HOUSEHOLD contacts. If someone in your HOUSEHOLD tests positive the government advises isolation is not required if you are triple vaccinated and with a negative PCR.
However as a contact sport we are already at higher risk and the government advice is accompanied by the recommendation to continue social distancing. If you are a HOUSEHOLD contact – and as such you are under ONGOING exposure please let us know and don’t come along, there will be other seminars in future!
